Written Worlds privacy

Manage Privacy Choices

Necessary technology remains active for requested website functions. Marketing is optional and may be changed at any time.

Turning marketing off stops future Written Worlds Meta events. It does not delete information Meta may already have received while permission was active.

Privacy Policy

Effective July 20, 2026 | Version 2026-07-20

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to writtenworlds.net, direct service inquiries, account registration and profiles, author inquiries, newsletter signup, the Project Cart, Stripe checkout, Book Spotlight requests, and creative materials uploaded or submitted for review or service delivery.

2. Information you provide

Depending on how you use Written Worlds, we may collect your name, email address, account or profile information, selected service, project stage, target word count or project scope, story or project summaries, book titles, pen names, author bios, book descriptions, genre and audience information, ISBNs, ASINs, external purchase links, cover images, other submitted creative materials, author rights confirmations, newsletter preferences, customer-support messages, discount-code use, order and payment status, and the legal-policy versions you accept or acknowledge.

3. Accounts and authentication

Supabase may process authentication information, account identifiers, profile records, author-application records, order records, contact submissions, and newsletter records for Written Worlds. Password authentication is handled through Supabase; Written Worlds does not store plaintext passwords.

4. Checkout and payment information

Stripe handles payment-card and payment-method details. Written Worlds may receive a customer name and email, billing details supplied through Stripe, Stripe session identifiers, payment status, service selections, subtotal, discount, total paid, refund or dispute status, and accepted Terms of Use and Refund Policy versions. Written Worlds does not directly store full payment-card numbers.

5. Email and communications

Written Worlds may use Resend or another approved provider for inquiry delivery, customer confirmations, owner notifications, project follow-up, order communications, and newsletter delivery when you subscribe. Providers may process message, recipient, delivery, and diagnostic information needed to send and protect those communications.

6. Hosting and technical records

Vercel and related infrastructure may process IP addresses, device and browser information, requested pages, referring pages, dates and times, error logs, and security or performance information needed to operate and protect the site.

7. Meta Pixel and advertising measurement

When you permit marketing tracking through Privacy Choices, Meta Pixel may collect or receive browser, device, page-view, referral, campaign, and website-event information. Events may include PageView, Lead, InitiateCheckout, and Purchase when those actions occur. Meta may use this information for advertising measurement, audience creation, attribution, and ad delivery under Meta's policies.

Written Worlds does not send manuscript text, project summaries, full payment-card numbers, or other sensitive creative content to Meta. Marketing tracking remains disabled until you permit it, and it is not necessary for core site functionality.

8. Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies

Necessary technology supports Project Cart persistence, authentication or session functionality, security, your saved privacy preference, and essential site operation. These functions may operate without marketing permission because they provide requested site features.

Marketing technology includes Meta Pixel, advertising measurement, campaign attribution, and related nonessential tracking. Marketing is off by default. You may accept or reject it and change your choice later through the footer's Privacy Choices control.

9. How information is used

We may use information to respond to inquiries, prepare quotes, deliver purchased services, manage accounts, process and document orders, prevent fraud and abuse, provide customer service, maintain project records, send requested newsletter communications, review author submissions, operate approved Book Spotlight services, improve website performance, measure advertising when permitted, and meet accounting or legal obligations.

10. Information sharing

Information may be shared with service providers that support current operations, including Supabase for authentication and database services, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Vercel for hosting, and Meta only when marketing tracking is permitted. If you choose an Amazon or other retailer link, that external provider receives information according to its own practices. Information may also be shared with professional advisers or authorities when reasonably necessary or legally required.

Written Worlds does not sell personal information for money. Enabling marketing tracking may disclose limited browser and website-event information to Meta. External retailers and other providers maintain their own privacy practices.

11. Manuscripts and creative materials

Ownership of submitted manuscripts, covers, metadata, images, and other creative materials remains with the author or customer. Submission does not transfer copyright. Written Worlds uses those materials to review or deliver the requested service, and public display requires approval or an applicable promotional agreement. Please do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information. Access should be limited to people and providers reasonably involved in the requested work.

12. Retention

Information may be retained as reasonably necessary for project completion, customer service, accounting, taxes, payment disputes, fraud prevention, legal compliance, recordkeeping, and enforcement of agreements. Retention needs vary by record, and deletion may not be immediate or universal.

13. Privacy choices and requests

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of appropriate personal information; unsubscribe from newsletter communications; withdraw future marketing consent through Privacy Choices; or ask about privacy practices by emailing written.worlds.exist@gmail.com. Identity verification may be required, and some records may be retained where legally or operationally necessary.

14. Children

Written Worlds services are intended for adults and the site is not directed to children under 13. Children should not directly submit personal information. A parent, guardian, author, educator, publisher, or other authorized adult should manage inquiries involving children's books.

15. Security

Written Worlds uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to current operations. No website, email system, database, or payment service can promise perfect or breach-proof security.

16. International visitors

Information may be processed in the United States and by service providers operating in other locations. Those locations may have data-protection rules different from the rules where you live.

17. Policy changes

Written Worlds may update this policy as services and legal requirements change. When material changes are published, the effective date and version shown above will be updated and a new marketing preference may be requested when appropriate.

18. Contact

Privacy questions and requests may be sent to written.worlds.exist@gmail.com.
