Active author terms
Author Terms
Effective July 20, 2026 | Version 2026-07-20
1. Scope
These Author Terms apply to author-service inquiries, Book Spotlight Advertisement requests, Book Marketing Support, Book Launch Pages, Amazon / ASIN listing setup, author website services involving book materials, and other author-submitted promotional materials. A separate quote, order, project scope, or signed agreement may add project-specific terms.
2. Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 and have authority to submit the book and materials. If you act for a rights holder, business, publisher, or other author, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms on that party's behalf.
3. Rights confirmation
You confirm that you own, control, have licensed, or otherwise have permission to submit every manuscript, cover, image, logo, photograph, excerpt, description, testimonial, metadata item, author bio, purchase link, trademark, and other promotional item you provide.
4. Ownership and limited permission
Authors retain ownership of their manuscripts and submitted materials. Submission does not transfer copyright. You give Written Worlds a limited, nonexclusive permission to review, format, reproduce, resize, display, and promote approved materials only as needed for the requested service. That permission ends when the service or approved placement ends, subject to reasonable archival, accounting, evidence, and legal recordkeeping.
Written Worlds retains ownership of its preexisting templates, site code, systems, workflows, and reusable materials. Project-specific ownership or licensing details may be further addressed in an approved written scope.
5. Retailer accounts, ISBNs, and royalties
Authors retain their Amazon, KDP, Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, and other retailer accounts. Authors retain control of their ISBNs and other publishing identifiers. Retailers pay author royalties directly under the retailer's rules. Written Worlds does not currently collect or distribute retailer royalties and instead charges service fees for approved Written Worlds work.
6. Review and acceptance
An inquiry does not guarantee acceptance. Written Worlds may request missing materials or rights confirmation and may reject content that appears unlawful, infringing, misleading, incomplete, unsafe, or inconsistent with site or platform standards. No public placement occurs merely because an inquiry was submitted.
7. Book Spotlight and paid placement
Book Spotlight is a reviewed promotional service. Placement, duration, deliverables, revision rounds, price, and renewal terms are controlled by the purchased package, approved quote, or written project scope; no default duration or renewal is promised. A paid placement will be clearly labeled Paid Advertisement or Sponsored Advertisement near its title or focal content. Written Worlds does not guarantee impressions, clicks, sales, reviews, rankings, or publishing success.
8. Accuracy and updates
Authors are responsible for providing the correct title, author name, cover, description, price references, ISBN or ASIN, audience guidance, content warnings, purchase links, rights information, and retailer availability. Authors should notify Written Worlds when submitted information becomes materially inaccurate.
9. Third-party retailers
Amazon and other retailers control their own checkout, pricing, availability, delivery, refunds, reviews, rankings, account support, and platform enforcement. Written Worlds cannot change or guarantee those third-party decisions.
10. Fees, cancellations, and refunds
Fees are defined by the approved service or quote. The active Refund Policy applies to direct Written Worlds payments, including its treatment of work already started and third-party expenses. Retailer book purchases remain subject to the retailer's policies.
11. AI-assisted work
Written Worlds may use AI-assisted tools for planning, organization, drafting support, editing support, marketing copy, or design planning. Work is not represented as entirely human-generated unless a written scope says so. Authors remain responsible for reviewing final facts, rights, metadata, and publication decisions.
12. Prohibited or restricted submissions
Written Worlds may decline infringing or unlawful material, deceptive claims, malware, impersonation, unauthorized personal information, or material that creates legitimate platform, legal, security, or safety risks.
13. Removal and correction
Written Worlds may request corrections, pause review, reject placement, or remove or suspend material when rights, accuracy, payment, platform, legal, or safety concerns arise. An author may request correction or removal at written.worlds.exist@gmail.com. Existing paid obligations, completed work, and recordkeeping requirements remain subject to the approved agreement and Refund Policy.
14. No marketplace payouts
No automated marketplace commission or royalty system is currently active. No payout is owed unless a separate written marketplace agreement expressly establishes one. Future marketplace participation will require updated terms before activation.
15. Related policies
These Author Terms work together with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Marketplace Disclaimer.
